About ColPort Hall
What's the difference between ColPort Mill, Hall, and Inn?
Mill is course-authoring (AI-powered SCORM creation). Hall is the managed LMS, delivery, compliance, certificates, learners. Inn is the verified expert network, trainers, coaches, subject-matter specialists, plus peer learning circles for HR leads running L&D alone. The three are deeply integrated: a gap detected in Hall surfaces an expert in Inn, a course authored in Mill publishes straight to Hall. You can use Hall without Mill or Inn, but the value compounds when you use all three.
Who is Hall built for?
Growing organisations with 20 to 500 employees, worldwide, typically in logistics, food retail, hospitality, manufacturing, and regulated services. HR leads, L&D coordinators, and team managers are the primary buyers. We're deliberately not trying to serve Fortune 500, the complexity tradeoffs ruin the experience for the 60-person company running six franchises.
Is Hall a SaaS tool or a managed service?
A managed SaaS. You log in through a browser, but unlike self-service LMSes, Hall handles the operational work, content authoring assistance, compliance tracking, renewal reminders, trainer matching. Your HR lead focuses on people; Hall runs the learning infrastructure.
Pricing and plans
How much does Hall cost?
Three plans: Starter €89/mo (up to 25 users), Growth €189/mo (up to 100 users with AI + AFAS integration), Enterprise €449/mo (250 users included, plus SAML SSO, proof vault, network benchmarks). Past 250 seats Enterprise is quoted bespoke — that's a procurement-sized conversation with volume discount, multi-year commits, and custom SLAs on the table. Every plan includes a transparent daily AI chat quota per person — 1/day on Starter, 3/day on Growth, 3/day for learners plus unlimited for managers and admins on Enterprise. Is there a free trial?
We don't offer a self-serve trial because Hall's value shows up over 30–90 days as compliance data accumulates. Instead every demo is a 30-minute walkthrough run by a founder, and the first month is a pilot with real data we help you import. If it's not working, you cancel and we delete everything.
Do you charge per user?
Starter and Growth are flat-fee for up to 25 and 100 users respectively — no seat line item. Enterprise is flat €449/mo for up to 250 users; past 250 we quote bespoke. An indicative anchor is ~€0.99/seat/mo above 250, but the actual number depends on multi-year commitment, payment terms, SSO and DPA scope, and whether we're also running training days for you. Even at 1,000 seats Hall stays dramatically under a typical per-seat LMS like Cornerstone or Docebo — but we'd rather give you a real number in a 20-minute call than pretend there's a self-serve rate card at that scale.
How does the daily AI chat limit work?
Each learner gets a fresh quota of AI conversations every day (Starter 1, Growth 3, Enterprise 3). Managers and admins get a higher daily quota (Starter 3, Growth 5, Enterprise unlimited). A 'conversation' is one user-initiated question; follow-up turns within five minutes don't count, so refining a question is free. Quotas reset at midnight in your tenant's timezone. The autonomous AI features — gap detection, weekly digests, scenario generation — run on the platform budget, not the per-person quota.
Can I upgrade or downgrade mid-contract?
Yes. Upgrades are immediate and prorated. Downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle. Data doesn't disappear when you downgrade, features are gated, but everything remains recoverable if you move back up.
Data, hosting, and AVG / GDPR
Where is my data stored?
Entirely inside the EU. Primary database in Frankfurt (Supabase), backend workers in Hetzner EU, email through Resend EU, SMS through CM.com (Netherlands). Nothing transits US clouds. Schrems-II compliance is built into the architecture, not bolted on via contracts.
Is Hall AVG / GDPR compliant?
Yes, by default. EU data residency, Data Processing Agreement included, per-user consent captured at sign-up, lawful-basis mapping documented per feature, and Article 15/17/20 requests fulfilled automatically through the /me/my-data endpoint. See the compliance page for the full breakdown.
Can I export my data if I leave?
Yes. Learning records, signed certificates, compliance evidence, and user data export as structured JSON or PDF. On termination we export everything and delete our copy within 30 days. No hostage data, no export fees.
Who is the Data Controller?
You are. ColPort is your Data Processor under a DPA you sign before first login. We process on your documented instructions only; we don't mine your data for any other purpose, and we never use it to train third-party models.
Features and integrations
Does Hall integrate with AFAS, Exact, or Personio?
AFAS is first-class on the Growth plan. HR creates an employee record, Hall automatically provisions the learning path, invitation, and compliance tracking. Exact and Personio are supported via SCIM. Azure AD and Google Workspace SSO are available on every plan.
Can employees learn without a login?
Yes. SMS tokenised learning is our most differentiating feature for blue-collar workers. Employee gets an SMS, taps the link, training opens in the browser, progress is tracked fully, certificate issued on completion. No app, no password. Phone numbers are AES-256 encrypted at the storage layer.
What AI does Hall use?
Claude (Anthropic) for all AI features, five role-specific assistants, autonomous gap detection, scenario-based assessment generation. Payloads are anonymised before leaving Hall; no PII ever reaches the model. AI features require a one-time DPIA attestation by an Org Admin before activation.
Can I white-label Hall with our brand?
Yes on Growth and Enterprise. Custom subdomain or fully custom domain (e.g. academy.your-brand.com), logo, colours, email sender name, and PWA manifest. On Enterprise you can also remove the "Powered by ColPort" footer entirely.
Onboarding and support
How long does rollout take?
A 200-person organisation typically runs pilot in week 1–2 and rolls out fully in week 3–4. Zero-touch onboarding from the HRIS webhook (AFAS, Personio, BambooHR, Workday, or any SCIM-capable IdP) means the HR lead doesn't need to do the work manually. We run the first cohort alongside you.
Who do I talk to when I need help?
Every demo is run by one of the founders. Paid customers get Slack access and a guaranteed 24-hour email response. No outsourced support, no chatbots. support@colport.io goes straight to the team.
Can I move from our current LMS?
Yes. We import course catalogues, learner records, and certificate history from most major LMSes (Cornerstone, Docebo, 360Learning, TalentLMS, and others). Course content transfers cleanly. Compliance history is preserved with audit-grade attribution.
